Although we did reach freezing temperatures a couple of days earlier in the winter, pool owners in Houston do not "close" their pools ever. (or so we were told) So now that we are playing outside more, the kids are constantly asking if they can go swimming in our freezing pool. Even though I won't let them swim, I have been letting them have winter picnics. Kids are made to eat outside- they can spill all they want, they fit at the picnic table better, and everything tastes better in the great outdoors!
