Hearing and seeing the train every day, the kids always want to know when they get to ride it. Since we were studying "transportation," we decided to take them on the train into the city- they LOVED it! Last summer was the last time they had been on the train, and Christy had gotten them chocolate milk. So when we were planning the day, both Vivi and Tonito remembered and asked if they were going to drink "leche de chocolate?" Of course I had to get it (I guess we're starting a tradition), along with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, string cheese, carrot stucks and grapes. It was very cold and rainy, and we walked all the way to the Art Institute with only Maya in the stroller. Tonito and Vivi are tough kids walking so far in the rain! They were so cold, but still energized enough to point out the taxis, buses, trucks, tall buildings, etc. It is always fun to see them so excited about something, and to experience something real- that normally they might only learn about in books or on TV.
